About Jay Romero

Jay Romero is a first-generation Salvadoran-American actor from Long Island, New York. His recent stage credits include The Hero U Took with Working Theatre and Broadway Advocacy Coalition at Playwrights Horizons; La Viuda (The Widow) with The Dog Team Theatre Project at Atlantic Stage 2; The Desire of the Astronaut at Pregones/PRTT; Bertha, the Sewing Machine Girl; Indians; and The Pot Boiler at Metropolitan Playhouse; as well as the national tour of The Magic School Bus with TheatreworksUSA. He has collaborated with National Queer Theater, New York Theatre Workshop, PEN America, the Astoria Performing Arts Center, and various Latin theater companies throughout New York City. Jay holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the State University of New York at Fredonia and is a member of Actors’ Equity Association.
Jay lives in the Big Apple and is an uncle of 13 nieces and nephews.
